Meet Andrew
Andrew Perez is a public affairs strategist, entrepreneur, national political commentator, freelance writer and university instructor with over a decade of experience supporting non-profit organizations, public institutions and leaders in shaping effective communications, media relations and advocacy strategies.
Andrew currently serves as the Executive Director at the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP) where he leads advocacy, public communications and programming for the pan-Canadian organization.
Since spring 2024, he has led his own public affairs firm, Perez Strategies, advising diverse clients like Pride at Work Canada, the Canadian Men's Health Foundation, Delphic Research, The Prosperity Project and Aurora Strategy Global.
Andrew has previously held roles with government and opposition MPs in Ottawa, worked in the Premier’s Office in Ontario, and completed internships at Queen’s Park and on Capitol Hill–bringing valuable policy and governance experience.
He is also a nationally recognized political commentator and Liberal Party strategist. Andrew's bylines have appeared in leading Canadian media outlets such as the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and National Post.
Andrew has regularly been featured on CBC News, CTV News, CP24 and BNN Bloomberg. His political insights have often been cited in national and international media, including in outlets such as The Canadian Press, BBC, The Wall Street Journal and The Jerusalem Post.
Grounded in his community, Andrew serves as President of the Board of Directors at Fife House, a Toronto-based supportive housing agency for people and families living with HIV/AIDS.
He holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University's School of Journalism, a Master of Public Policy from the University of Toronto's Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, and a certificate in public relations from U of T’s School of Continuing Studies, where he teaches digital communications strategy.
